Your first appointment may last at least 1 1/2 hours (if you do get tested on this day) so please schedule accordingly.
Fasting before skin testing is not necessary.
If you are pregnant or nursing please inform the nurse or physician at your appointment.
Certain medications containing antihistamines may need to be discontinued (except if you have hives) prior to allergy testing.
Please review the following list of medications or your primary care physician may advise you on this. 
DO NOT STOP ANY MEDICATIONS FOR THIS VISIT WITHOUT CONSULTING A PHYSICIAN.

STOP FOR 8 DAYS PRIOR TO ALLERGY SKIN TESTING: Alavert, Allegra D, Cetirizine, Clarinex, Claritin, Claritin D, Desloratadine, Fexofenadine, Loratadine, Zyrtec, Zyrtec D, Xyzal, Levocetirizine
STOP FOR 4 DAYS PRIOR TO ALLERGY SKIN TESTING: Astelin, Astepro, Atarax, Azelastine, Bepreve, Cyproheptadine, Clemastine, Hydroxyzine, Optivar, Patanase, Pataday, Periactin, Tavist, Tavist D, Vistaril, Zaditor, Dymista

Many non-prescription medications for colds, cough, insomnia, and headache contain antihistamines.
Please review the ingredients of any medications you are on.
Most of these need to be discontinued 36 hours prior to testing.
DO NOT DISCONTINUE ANY MAINTENANCE MEDICATIONS (HEART, BLOOD PRESSURE, ETC) WITHOUT CONSULTING A PHYSICIAN.
